{"id":28,"date":"2015-02-11T07:12:17","date_gmt":"2015-02-11T07:12:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.creationevidence.org\/blog\/?p=28"},"modified":"2018-07-31T04:57:47","modified_gmt":"2018-07-31T04:57:47","slug":"creation-lesson-3-intelligent-design","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.creationevidence.org\/blog\/creation-lesson-3-intelligent-design\/","title":{"rendered":"Creation Lesson #3 - Intelligent Design"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Introduction\u2026The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Evolution Model<\/span> begins with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Seven Assumptions<\/span><\/em><\/strong> (none of which have ever been observed in the field or demonstrated in the laboratory):<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong><em>Non-living elements<\/em><\/strong> gave rise to <strong><em>living material<\/em><\/strong>\u2026<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Spontaneous generation<\/em><\/strong> occurred <strong><em>only once<\/em><\/strong>\u2026<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Viruses, bacteria, plants<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>animals<\/em><\/strong> are <strong><em>all related<\/em><\/strong>\u2026<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Single-celled life forms<\/em><\/strong> gave rise to <strong><em>multiple-celled life forms<\/em><\/strong>\u2026<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Various<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>invertebrate phyla<\/em><\/strong> are <strong><em>related<\/em><\/strong>\u2026<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Invertebrates<\/em><\/strong> gave rise to <strong><em>vertebrates<\/em><\/strong>\u2026<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Fish<\/em><\/strong> gave rise to <strong><em>amphibians<\/em><\/strong> to <strong><em>reptiles<\/em><\/strong>, to <strong><em>birds<\/em><\/strong>, to <strong><em>mammals<\/em><\/strong>, to <strong><em>primates<\/em><\/strong>, to <strong><em>man<\/em><\/strong>\u2026<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><em>In contrast\u2026The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Creation Model<\/span> begins with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">One Assumption<\/span> <\/em><\/strong>(which is consistent with laboratory experiments in microbiology and life-sciences):<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The <strong><em>overwhelming complexity<\/em><\/strong> found in living systems throughout nature <strong><em>requires a Designer<\/em><\/strong> for its origin. (Living material may be re-arranged in its order, but it has never been observed to increase in complexity from the original stock.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><em>I.\u00a0 The Living Cell\u2026<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cThere are more than twenty different sections in a cell\u2026a single flaw in the cell\u2019s protein transport pathway is fatal. Unless the entire system were immediately in place, our ancestors would have suffered a similar fate.\u201d<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a> \u201cOnly whole cells\u2026contain all the necessary machinery for \u2018self-replication\u2019\u2026without the protein-forming machinery nothing can be made.\u201d<a href=\"#_ftn3\" name=\"_ftnref3\">[3]<\/a> The chance assemblage of the 60,000 proteins in a single cell is one in 10 to the 4,478,296 power!<a href=\"#_ftn4\" name=\"_ftnref4\">[4]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><em>II.\u00a0 The Bacterial Flagellum\u2026<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>The marvelous <strong><em>irreducibly complex Bacterial Flagellum<\/em><\/strong> is powered by an <strong><em>electric<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>motor<\/em><\/strong>, with the following features: <strong><em>self assembly<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>repair<\/em><\/strong>, water-cooled <strong><em>rotary engine<\/em><\/strong>, proton motive force <strong><em>drive system<\/em><\/strong>, forward and reverse <strong>gears<\/strong>, operating speeds up to <strong><em>100,000 rpm<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>direction-reversing capacity<\/em><\/strong> within <strong><em>\u00bc of a turn<\/em><\/strong>.<a href=\"#_ftn5\" name=\"_ftnref5\">[5]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><em>III.\u00a0\u00a0 The Eyes of the Trilobite\u2026<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>At the bottom of the Geologic Column lies a fossil organism that is so complicated in its structure that it defies evolutionary explanation at its roots. Appearing full-blown in the <strong><em>Cambrian Explosion<\/em><\/strong> is the Trilobite with its ecological fitness and its compound eyes, demonstrating ultimate optics in exquisite design.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong><em>lens of the trilobite eyes<\/em><\/strong> represents a marvel of design in correcting for \u201c<strong><em>spherical<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>aberration<\/em><\/strong>\u201d in its crystalline shape. This problem is seen where light is distorted along the edges of lenses. <strong><em>Rene Descartes<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Christian Huygens<\/em><\/strong> invented correcting lenses in the 1600\u2019s. But the trilobites already possessed the correct shape from the beginning!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><em>IV.\u00a0 The Human Brain\u2026<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>The physical brain is comprised of over <strong><em>100 billion cells<\/em><\/strong>, each with up to <strong><em>50,000<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>neuron connections<\/em><\/strong> to other brain cells.<a href=\"#_ftn6\" name=\"_ftnref6\">[6]<\/a> This structure receives over <strong><em>100 million<\/em><\/strong> separate signals from the total human body <strong><em>every second<\/em><\/strong>. Stanford University professors Stephen Smith and E.A. Moore authored a recent study showing that \u201c[T]he brain\u2019s complexity is <strong><em>beyond anything [we had] imagined<\/em><\/strong>\u2026the total number of <strong><em>synapses<\/em><\/strong> in a brain roughly equal the number of stars in <strong><em>1,500 Milky<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>Way galaxies<\/em><\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>...<strong><em>Memory patterns<\/em><\/strong> and tiny on\/off <strong><em>switches<\/em><\/strong>, which were long thought to reside in the larger neuron bodies, were instead found to be smaller than the tiny synapse connections. <strong><em>Each of the neurons<\/em><\/strong> imaged in the study serves <strong><em>thousands of synapses<\/em><\/strong>\u2026<strong><em>One synapse<\/em><\/strong> may contain on the order of <strong><em>1,000 molecular-scale switches<\/em><\/strong>. A single human brain has more switches than <strong><em>all the computers and routers and internet connections on earth<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d<a href=\"#_ftn7\" name=\"_ftnref7\">[7]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><em>V.\u00a0 The Original Earth\u2026<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>The marvelous design of Earth\u2019s original structure provided optimal benefits to all living systems, especially Man who was placed in charge of the planet. Of special significance was the \u201c<strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">firmament<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u201d (<strong><em>raqiya<\/em><\/strong>) that was divinely set in place on Day Two. It is seen as beginning at the watery Earth and extending throughout space as a universal <strong><em>macrocosm<\/em><\/strong> expanse of lattice structure, consisting of charged subatomic particles. These particles formed the structure that would later stabilize the universal arrangement of stellar bodies and various atomic elements.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Simultaneously, in order to focus the benefit of universal radiation, the firmament formed locally as a thin <strong><em>microcosm<\/em><\/strong> complex of crystalline structure suspended directly above Earth. Dr. Edward Boudreaux has demonstrated that crystalline materials, such as silicate sugilite, can be held in a suspended canopy lattice by the earth\u2019s magnetic field.<a href=\"#_ftn8\" name=\"_ftnref8\">[8]<\/a> The firmament, locally and universally, was essentially <strong><em>one seamless whole<\/em><\/strong> in structure.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Conclusion<\/em><\/strong>\u2026<strong><em>Intelligent Design<\/em><\/strong> is observed in all areas of scientific investigation. Any interpretation of these marvelous phenomena as coming about by natural processes represents a <strong><em>willful disregard for the established laws of science<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>lack of appreciation<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>for the mercies of the Creator Himself<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\">[1]<\/a> G.A.
